Analytic Design Group Inc. (ADGi) is a visionary user experience consulting firm with proven strategic, research, and design skills to revolutionize your online presence. ADGi has a depth of experience in several industries and across a range of hardware and software platforms.

Headquartered in Vancouver, Analytic Design Group Inc. was established in 2005. The company has been growing steadily each year, with an increasing number of projects and repeat engagements with our clients. The sites we have designed have been twice named by the prestigious Communication Arts magazine as Site of the Day. Since its inception, ADGi has distinguished itself as an outstanding service-provider offering solutions that are innovative and that are delivered on time and on budget.

    Karyn Zuidinga
    Principal & Director of User Experience

    With over 12 years experience designing information spaces and supported by a Master's in Publishing, Karyn brings a solid foundation of experience and education to her role as Director of User Experience.

    She has provided the strategic information design direction and insights for such significant projects as the PHSA Intranet Redesign, the BCCDC website redesign, TransLink’s website redesign, TransLink’s Trip Planner redesign, SportFitcanada.com redesign, and DYS Architects. Karyn has also worked with AT&T to help refine their usability testing requirements for data-driven devices, as well as oversees the user research ADGi does for multiple device vendors such a Research in Motion (BlackBerry), Palm (now HP), Samsung, and Sony Ericsson.

    Karyn’s specific skills set includes strategic planning, concept modeling, information architecture, interaction design, user research, user requirements documentation, and requirements elicitation and documentation.

    As the Principal of Analytic Design Group Inc. she has built the business to become one of the more respected user experience consulting firms in Vancouver. Her staff has grown and the range of projects has grown both in breadth and depth of engagement. Several clients have become repeat customers.

    Karyn has driven the development of a proprietary web-based tool that ADGi has developed that allows us to remotely test information architecture prototypes. This tool has been instrumental in helping us to design outstanding information architectures that are evidence-based.

    Karyn also taught user experience design for four years at Capilano University’s Interactive Design Program.

    Nicole Leduc
    Director of User Research

    Nicole is an industry-recognized professional with 20+ years experience as a user-centered research and usability professional.

    She is a strong user advocate, who enjoys improving the customer experience, increasing user satisfaction and retention through user feedback and excellent design. She is also a strategic thinker who starts up and leverages user-centered design and usability teams to increase product revenues and market share by increasing customer satisfaction.

    Nicole moved to Vancouver to take up the position of Senior Director, CCD and build the interaction design and usability team for Sage Canada. Before Sage, she ran her own company, Userstudies, in New Mexico, consulting with teams that created customer-facing systems: web, IVR, speech recognition, mobile.

    Prior to that, Nicole was Director, Usability Engineering at Nuance, a leading speech recognition company, where she created a usability engineering team within Professional Services and developed, with their help, a research process and usability methods for natural language speech systems.

    She was also a Member of the Research Staff at Interval Research, Paul Allen's think tank, where she performed consumer usability studies, field studies and contextual analyses with consumers in their homes, as part of a user-aided design process which resulted in the development and funding of a series of cutting-edge prototypes.

    Nicole has also worked in management positions at Citibank and Bell Canada, developing new telecommunications services and completed consulting work for clients such as Visa, Apple Computer, AAA, IDEO, Nortel, Citibank and a series of dot.com companies.

    Michelyn Smythe
    Senior Project Manager

    With over 10 years of experience as a project manager and business analyst, Michelyn’s dedication to leading projects to successful completion is unparalleled.

    Michelyn believes in a strong communication focus for projects starting with clear scope definition and committed client engagement, through to ongoing status reports, quick and innovative solutions to any obstacles, and a controlled timeline and budget. She has a great attention to detail on client requirements and making sure that the right solution is provided.

    Michelyn has worked on CMS implementation projects for large corporate sites, such as Creo.com and CGACanada.org, that have included major content migration components. As well she has delivered countless integrated online marketing campaigns for organizations. At Analytic Design Group, which she joined in 2008, Michelyn has managed usability testing and design projects for mobile and web.

    Michelyn is a Project Management Professional (PMP), having received this professional designation from the Project Management Institute (PMI) in 2002.

    Jessica Dill
    Senior Information Architect

    Jessica is a highly experienced information architect who specializes in taxonomy and metadata development and the design of knowledge sharing applications.

    Jessica has worked on large-scale intranet and content management projects for PHSA, BCCDC, TransLink, Electronic Arts, Creo (now Kodak Canada), VanCity, and the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver. She also has extensive experience gathering user requirements, conducting usability testing, and interviewing users.

    From 2001 through 2008, Jessica was an active member of the Vancouver-based Knowledge Management Community of Practice and was on the Board for 2007 and 2008.

    Jessica has a graduate degree in Library and Information Science from the University of British Columbia as well as a degree in Anthropology.

    She has been with Analytic Design Group since 2007, and has lead a number of our large design projects, including PHSA Intranet, BC Cancer Agency website, BC Centre for Disease Control website, TransLink website, TransLink trip planner tools, and BC Early Hearing Program Extranet.

    Clarence Chan
    Usability Specialist

    Clarence has a graduate degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Human Computer Interaction. Clarence draws on a mix of broad usability knowledge and practical front-end development experience in his role as a usability analyst.

    Clarence is familiar with many different aspects of usability testing and UI design; he has experience in performing task analyses, creating wireframes and conducting user studies, as well as a solid grounding in the principles of visual psychology and proper design heuristics.

    Clarence has also spent a number of years developing, testing and iterating upon various online technologies, from webcasting interfaces to Internet consumer portals and video players for mobile phone media. He has previously done software development and usability testing on the ePresence opensource webcasting system, and has also worked on the development of interesting visual mashups for geotagged phone videos at LiveCast Media.

    He has been at Analytic Design Group for two years, and during that time has lead a number of usability testing project for clients in Canada and the United States.

    Chirag Vesuvala
    Usability Specialist

    Chirag has a graduate degree from Simon Fraser University in Computer Science with an area of focus in usability testing.

    Chirag is familiar and comfortable with many aspects of usability: he has led focus-group discussions with target end users, developed low- and high-fidelity prototypes, and conducted one-on-one usability tests with users.

    He also has a background in Quality Assurance from working with the Microsoft Interface team in Denmark, where he discovered a passion for hunting for user experience pitfalls. He used this experience to hone his skills in identifying obstacles to userʼs task completion and to providing solutions to these issues.

    Chirag has been at Analytic Design Group Inc. for over a year. During this time, he has been a core member of the Usability team, facilitating face-to-face usability tests as well as remote usability tests. He has also been responsible for producing the usability testing reports for many of our clients.

    Antek Wodzynski
    Interaction Designer

    Antek is a user experience designer specializing in the design of web applications and task-oriented websites.

    Over the last 5 years Antek has had the opportunity to apply his craft to online social information sharing, event-based sites, online license purchasing, customer support interfaces, and other web applications. Antek graduated from Emily Carr University of Art and Design with a degree in Design, majoring in Communication Design. This background has given him sensitivity in transforming brand portfolios to a meaningful online presence.

    As a believer in the power of visualization and prototyping as tools to inform and validate strategy, Antek excels at identifying all the touchpoints of the user experience, both online and off. In the past he has worked with Product Managers and other stakeholders to develop compelling and effective feature sets and contribute to project roadmaps.

    Antek has worked on the interaction design for a number of ADGi clients, including BC Centre for Disease Control, TransLink, AT&T, and BC Cancer Agency.
